Block House is a 3,400 sf single family residence in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia.  The house is sited on a double lot with a south facing rear yard.  The first floor incorporates the public living spaces in a large open plan; providing natural daylighting on three faces, with views to the rear garden on the south side.  The second floor is comprised of sleeping rooms, while the third floor includes a studio space, home office, and roof deck with views of the Philadelphia skyline.   The exterior construction consists of a brick base with a cedar rain screen facade above.   At the interior, custom bamboo screens and millwork mark the main stair and key spaces.
