Case Study House #5

Tracery House derives its name from the varied fenestration pattern of the upper stories.  The design proposes a fairly solid, more private base that contrasts an open expression at the upper floors.  The angled projecting form of the upper bay affords views up and down the street.

‘Tracery House’ is a part of our ongoing case study investigation of modestly scaled housing prototypes based upon the constraints of a typical Philadelphia rowhouse lot.  It is designed to fit within a 16 foot lot width and the 35 foot height of a typical three story residential block.
